Job summary

Tufts Medicine in Boston is seeking an Overnight Call Center Operator to staff a 40-hour week. The role answers calls on a PC switchboard, transfers to the right destination, triages requests, and activates emergency codes as directed.

You will handle patient and staff communications, maintain code logs, and coordinate with teams while upholding HIPAA privacy. A high school diploma is required; experience in a call center and familiarity with Spok and TigerConnect are preferred.

Qualifications

• Preferred call center experience and familiarity with Spok and TigerConnect.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls on a PC switchboard with professional etiquette and transfer calls promptly.
• Triage requests to determine caller needs and route to appropriate destination.
• Prioritize calls and manage time effectively to meet targets.
• Communicate with patients, clients, and staff using computer-based systems.
• Activate time-sensitive clinical and emergency codes as directed.
• Collaborate with team to ensure accurate handling of calls.
• Maintain customer service focus and HIPAA privacy compliance.
• Initiate page requests via paging systems or messaging apps.
• Navigate multiple platforms to retrieve call information.
• Capture non-clinical information and relay accurately to providers.
• Monitor emergency lines and panels (Code Blue, STATS, etc.).
• Log all codes and actions in the code log.
• Support team goals and foster a positive work environment.
