Job summary

Tufts Medicine seeks a patient- and service-focused call center operator to manage a busy switchboard, triage requests, and route calls accurately. You will handle time-sensitive communications, maintain confidentiality, and coordinate with clinical and non-clinical staff in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and experience in a call center, with knowledge of Spok and TigerConnect.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a call center environment preferred.
• Experience with Spok and TigerConnect applications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls on a PC switchboard console with professional etiquette and transfer calls to destinations.
• Triage requests to determine caller needs and connect to destination.
• Prioritize calls and manage time effectively.
• Communicate with patients, providers, and staff using computer-based systems.
• Activate clinical and emergency codes as directed.
• Collaborate with team to ensure accurate call handling.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Initiate pages via paging systems or messaging apps.
• Navigate multiple platforms to retrieve call information.
• Document codes in the code log and monitor emergency lines.
