Job summary

Tufts Medicine, MelroseWakefield Hospital, is seeking a Telephone Operator to manage a PC switchboard, answer calls professionally, and transfer to appropriate destinations. The role requires attendance at orientation and training, with daytime training sessions during the first weeks.

You will support administrative tasks while maintaining patient confidentiality and coordinating with clinical and non-clinical staff. Hours are 40 per week, Monday to Friday, 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, onsite.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a call center environment.
• Experience with Spok and TigerConnect applications.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls on a PC switchboard with professional etiquette and transfer calls.
• Triage requests to determine caller needs and connect to destination.
• Activate time-sensitive codes as directed and communicate with staff.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA regulations and document codes.
• Navigate multiple platforms to retrieve call information and accurate data.
