Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader to oversee team engagement and store operations across the span of care. You will mentor Leads and Team Leaders, drive coaching, recognition, and performance management, and ensure alignment with budget and safety requirements.

The role emphasizes talent development, process improvement, and contributing to Meijer’s culture across six states. A bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of retail leadership are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Strong customer service orientation and business acumen.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to drive decisions.
• Commitment to safety and inclusivity in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Leads and Team Leaders to achieve store goals.
• Drive area operations, scheduling, and coaching to maximize sales.
• Ensure compliance with safety and corporate policies.
• Identify process improvements and steward Meijer culture.
• Manage budget items in the P&L and forecast staffing needs.
• Provide guidance and feedback through regular performance discussions.
