Job summary

AdventHealth in Deltona, FL is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to support adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients in a busy hospital setting.

You will assess respiratory status, adjust therapies per protocols, and collaborate with clinicians to ensure safe, effective care. A strong teaching role for staff and students is available, with a NIGHT shift and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Respiratory Care is required.
• 3+ years of hospital experience as an RRT is required.
• Licensure as Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and ACLS/BLS; PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recommends changes in respiratory care plans based on medical necessity and protocols.
• Instructs and coaches patients before, during, and after treatment to prevent side effects.
• Adjusts therapies based on protocol and clinical data (pulse ox, labs, imaging).
• Operates as a resource and mentors staff; supervise student preceptorships.
• Initiates and maintains mechanical ventilation; re-evaluates settings every four hours.
• Draws arterial blood gases and manages arterial lines; modifies care as needed.
• Responds to emergencies; maintains airways and performs CPR as required.
• Supports cardiopulmonary diagnostics and related testing per unit needs.
