Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to perform clinical patient assessments, deliver therapy, and manage oxygen delivery and ventilation. You will respond to code blues, participate in rounds, and ensure high-quality care across adult to neonatal patients.

Nights, strong teamwork, and adherence to standards are essential. Responsibilities include ventilator management, ABG analysis, bronchoscopy assistance, and EMR documentation.

Qualifications

• Critical thinking and patient assessment skills, with the ability to evaluate and modify the plan of care.
• Ability to ensure infection control.
• Effective communication in both spoken and written form and EMR documentation.
• Airway management including intubation and maintaining a patent airway.
• Ability to provide respiratory support including oxygen, inhaled meds, and ventilation.
• Ability to initiate and manage invasive and non-invasive ventilation.
• Perform ABG puncture and arterial blood gas analysis.
• Ventilator management and patient transport.
• Care for pediatric to geriatric patients with neonatal considerations.
• Willingness to rotate across patient care areas as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Reviews workload, assigns staff, and assists with technical questions as shift lead.
• Runs quality control tests and maintains lab equipment.
• Documents education plans and care plans.
• Participates in rounds and provides input for patient care.
• Assists with bronchoscopy and delivers respiratory therapies per orders.
• Sets up and adjusts ventilators.
• Delivers medications and conducts lung function tests.
• Draws and reports blood gases to assess status.
• Responds to code blues and rapid response calls.
• Performs duties as assigned.
