Job summary

AdventHealth in Daytona Beach is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to support patient care during night shifts. You will implement and adjust respiratory therapies, monitor patient response, and participate in staff training to ensure safe, effective treatment.

Ideal candidates have an Associate degree and 3+ years in a hospital setting, with RRT credentials and ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications. The role involves high standards of patient care and teamwork in a faith-based environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of respiratory therapy or equivalent training.
• 3+ years of hospital experience as RRT.
• American Heart Association ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications.
• State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or NBRC RRT.

Responsibilities

• Recommends changes in respiratory care plans based on medical necessity and protocols.
• Instructs and coaches patients before, during, and after treatment, adjusting therapies per protocol.
• Initiates and maintains mechanical ventilation and evaluates ventilator settings every four hours.
• Draws and analyzes arterial blood gases and manages arterial lines.
• Responds to emergencies, maintains airways, and performs CPR as needed.
• Operates as a support staff for cardiopulmonary diagnostics and related testing.
