Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of a diploma, associate, or baccalaureate degree in nursing required.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial patient assessment utilizing the nursing process.
• Documents initial assessment and delivery of patient care in medical record.
• Coordinates bedside care and supervises procedures.
• Administers or supervises medications, IV fluids, blood, and blood products.
• Informs physician of patient status and assists with treatments and rounds.
• Supervises nursing staff and ensures appropriate assignments by patient acuity.
• Prioritizes physician orders and communicates with patient and family.
• Ensures safe disposal of hazardous pharmaceutical waste.
