Job summary

West Tennessee Healthcare in Jackson, Tennessee is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide quality patient care on assigned units. The RN will lead a nursing team, perform patient assessments, plan and implement care, and monitor daily care standards.

The role requires TN RN licensure, BLS (and ACLS/NRP within one year). Accurate documentation and effective communication with physicians, patients, and families are essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of a baccalaureate degree in nursing.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Tennessee.
• BLS certification must be obtained within orientation; ACLS/NRP certification within one year.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial patient assessment using the nursing process and develops the plan of care.
• Coordinates bedside care and supervises nursing staff on shift; delegates as appropriate.
• Administers or supervises administration of medications, IV fluids, and blood products.
• Informs physician of patient status and assists with treatments and rounds.
• Supervises patient care, priorities physician orders, and ensures accurate transcription of orders.
• Communicates with patients and families; collaborates with other disciplines for discharge planning.
