Job summary

Mount Sinai Morningside seeks a Supervisor, Patient Access Services to oversee daily registration, insurance verification, and financial clearance across assigned hospital service areas, including ED and Admitting. The role ensures accurate patient registration, real-time coaching, and exceptional customer service.

The incumbent reports to the Manager of Patient Access Services, supports staffing and onboarding, and maintains compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies while driving

Qualifications

• Experience in Patient Access, registration, or front-end revenue cycle operations within a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Working knowledge of insurance verification and financial clearance processes.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and function effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Basic leadership or team lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Patient Access activities to ensure timely and accurate registration, insurance capture, and documentation.
• Monitor staff productivity and quality performance; provide real-time feedback and coaching.
• Escalate operational issues, system concerns, or workflow barriers to the Manager as appropriate.
• Assist with staffing assignments and coverage to ensure adequate departmental support.
• Reinforce compliance with payer requirements, regulatory standards, and organizational policies.
• Supervise frontline Patient Access representatives, including scheduling, attendance monitoring, and performance feedback.
• Support onboarding and training of new staff in collaboration with department leadership.
• Maintain effective working relationships with Human Resources and Labor Relations.
