Mercyhealth is seeking an Experienced Healthcare Patient Access Representative to manage patient registrations in the ER, urgent care, inpatient and outpatient settings. Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• 1–2 years of customer service experience required.
• Knowledge of third-party payors preferred.
• Medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients in ER and outpatient visits and collect demographic and insurance information.
• Verify patient insurance information and update as needed.
• Collect co-pays, self-pay amounts, and post payments per policy.
• Assist with pre-admission and pre-registration functions and provide admission information.
• Maintain accurate cash drawer and balance at shift end.
• Communicate with leadership, nurses, physicians and partners; coordinate patient flow.
• Provide respectful, compassionate service to patients, families and staff.
