Job summary

Emerus Holdings, Inc. is hiring a Night Shift Patient Access role for a 16-bed small-format hospital in El Paso. You will manage patient intake, verify demographics and insurance, and support revenue cycle activities.

Responsibilities include ensuring eligibility, collecting payments, and maintaining records while upholding EMTALA, HIPAA, and other regulations. Bilingual English/Spanish is required in this market.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of patient registration and insurance verification in healthcare preferred.
• Emergency Department registration experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of HMO, PPO, POS, Medicare and Medicaid payors required.
• Basic medical terminology understanding.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) knowledge preferred.
• English fluency; Spanish bilingual ability is required in El Paso market.

Responsibilities

• Maintain EMTALA, DNV, HIPAA compliance in admissions settings.
• Provide excellent customer service and build relationships.
• Identify and triage patients upon arrival to the hospital.
• Answer phone calls professionally and relay messages.
• Obtain signatures on required forms and consents.
• Enter complete demographic information for accounts.
• Verify insurance benefits for plans and payors.
• Obtain necessary insurance authorizations when applicable.
• Pursue collections at service time to maximize reimbursement.
• Scan and file medical records and documentation.
