Job summary

Emerus in El Paso, TX seeks a Patient Access Specialist to serve as the liaison between patients, payers, and the hospital team. You will verify demographics, secure payment responsibility, and maximize reimbursement while delivering courteous service.

Responsibilities include patient intake, insurance verification, and documentation in the revenue cycle. Bilingual English/Spanish is highly valued for the El Paso market; 7 PM–7 AM shifts with full benefits and training provisions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years patient registration and insurance verification experience preferred.
• Emergency Department registration experience preferred.
• Knowledge of various insurance plans and payors required.
• Fluency in English; bilingual English/Spanish highly valued in El Paso market.

Responsibilities

• Maintain EMTALA, DNV, HIPAA compliance in Admissions settings.
• Provide excellent customer service and build relationships.
• Identify and triage patients upon arrival to ensure safety.
• Obtain demographics and verify insurance details.
• Scan and file medical records and transfer information as needed.
• Assist with patient transfers between hospitals when necessary.
