Emerus is seeking a Night Shift Patient Access Specialist to act as a liaison between patients, payers and the hospital revenue cycle. You will verify demographics, secure insurance information, and collect out-of-pocket responsibility to maximize reimbursement.

This full-time, on-site role supports our 16-bed small-format hospital in Texas. Responsibilities include registration, verifying benefits, obtaining signatures, and coordinating patient transfers while delivering excellent customer

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of patient registration and insurance verification experience in a health care setting preferred.
• Knowledge of various insurance plans (HMO, PPO, POS, Medicare, Medicaid) and payors required.
• Fluency in English; Spanish required in El Paso market.

Mansioni

• Maintain compliance with EMTALA, DNV, HIPAA and all other regulations in Admissions settings.
• Provide excellent customer service at all times and build quality relationships.
• Identify and triage patients on arrival to protect patient safety.
• Answer telephone professionally and relay messages to medical staff.
• Obtain signatures on forms and consents.
• Enter complete demographic information to facilitate revenue cycle processing.
• Verify insurance benefits and confirm correct payor and plan.
• Obtain insurance authorizations as required.
• Pursue collections at the time of service in a customer-service oriented fashion.
• Scan registration and clinical documents into the system.
• Assist with transferring patients to other hospitals when needed.
• Respond to medical record requests from patients, physicians and hospitals.
• Maintain cash drawer and log payments, transfers and admissions.
• Maintain visitor/vendor log.
