Job summary
Electrical Automation Services seeks a Controls Engineer for night shift at our Glendale, AZ facility. You will serve as on-site controls expert, troubleshoot PLC, HMI, VFDs, servo systems, and support packaging lines in a high-speed beverage environment.
The role includes technical leadership, mentoring maintenance technicians, and leading controls upgrades and commissioning projects. Requires an associate degree and 4+ years of automation experience with ability to read electrical drawings.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in engineering technology or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- At least four years of industrial automation or controls experience in food/beverage, pharmaceutical, or high-speed manufacturing.
- Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming capabilities.
- Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and electrical networks.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary on-shift controls and automation expert.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for automated production, processing, and packaging equipment.
- Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, instrumentation, motion-control, and network issues.
- Develop and implement permanent corrective actions for recurring equipment problems.
- Lead controls-related projects to improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.
