Job summary

Electrical Automation Services in Glendale, AZ, is seeking a Controls Engineer for the night shift to support high-speed beverage manufacturing. You will serve as the on-shift controls expert, diagnosing PLC/HMI/VFD issues and leading controls projects to improve safety, quality, and throughput.

The role requires an associate degree and 4+ years in industrial automation, with strong PLC skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in engineering technology or related field.
• At least four years in industrial automation or controls in high-speed manufacturing.
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming capabilities.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
• Willingness to work a 2-2-3 night shift (6:00 PM–6:00 AM).
• Excellent communication across plant departments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-shift controls and automation expert.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for production equipment.
• Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, instrumentation, and network issues.
• Develop and execute controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.
• Maintain PLC/HMI backups, documentation, and change records.
• Support commissioning, upgrades, and system integration.
