Electrical Automation Services in Glendale, AZ, is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer for the night shift to support high-speed beverage manufacturing. You will act as the on-shift controls expert, troubleshoot PLC/HMI/VFD systems, and lead automation projects that boost safety, reliability, and throughput.
The role requires 4+ years in industrial automation, strong PLC/HMI skills, and the ability to read electrical schematics. A 2-2-3 night schedule is required.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in engineering technology or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years in industrial automation in high-speed manufacturing.
- Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming skills.
- Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, networks.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings.
- Willingness to work a 2-2-3 night shift (6:00 PM–6:00 AM).
Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-shift controls and automation expert.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for production equipment.
- Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and network issues.
- Develop controls projects to improve safety, quality and throughput.
- Support high-speed beverage processing and packaging systems.
- Participate in change management for controls and modifications.
- Mentor maintenance technicians and operators.
- Maintain PLC/HMI backups and documentation.
