Job summary
Electrical Automation Services is seeking a Controls Engineer for our Glendale, Arizona facility to support high-speed beverage processing lines on the night shift. You will troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and instrumentation, and lead control improvements across packaging and conveying systems.
You will mentor maintenance staff, document changes, and participate in MOC processes to ensure safety and reliability.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent in engineering technology or related field.
- At least four years of automation or controls experience in high-speed manufacturing.
- Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming capabilities.
- Experience with automated production, conveyor, and packaging equipment.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
- Ability to diagnose complex controls problems and lead automation projects.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary on-shift controls and automation expert.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for production equipment.
- Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, instrumentation issues.
- Develop and execute controls projects to improve safety, quality and throughput.
- Mentor maintenance technicians and operators.
- Maintain backups and change records for controls and drawings.
