Job summary

Electrical Automation Services seeks an experienced Controls Engineer for our Glendale, Arizona facility on a 2-2-3 night shift (6:00 PM–6:00 AM). You will be the on-shift automation expert, diagnosing PLC/HMI/VFD/servo issues and leading control projects to boost safety, quality and throughput.

Collaboration with operations and maintenance is essential. The role requires 4+ years in high-speed manufacturing controls, an associate degree in a related field, and strong PLC/HMI knowledge.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering technology, information systems, industrial automation or related discipline.
• 4+ years of industrial automation or controls experience in high-speed manufacturing (food/bev, pharma, packaging, etc.).
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming capabilities; ability to diagnose complex controls problems.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servos, instrumentation and electrical schematics.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills; willing to mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-shift controls and automation expert; provide Tier 1/2 support.
• Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, instrumentation, and network issues; restore production safely.
• Develop and execute controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability and throughput.
• Maintain backups, drawings, and change records; support commissioning and upgrades.
• Lead training and mentorship for maintenance staff and operators.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance and quality to drive improvements.
