Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is seeking a seasoned Controls Engineer to join our Glendale, AZ facility on a 2-2-3 night schedule. You will lead on-shift automation support for high-speed beverage production, diagnosing PLC, HMI, VFD, and motion-control issues.

You will mentor technicians, implement controls upgrades, and collaborate with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to improve safety and throughput.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in engineering technology or related discipline.
• At least four years of industrial automation/controls experience in fast-moving manufacturing.
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming capabilities.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary on-shift controls and automation expert.
• Provide Tier 1 and 2 troubleshooting for production equipment.
• Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and network issues.
• Implement permanent corrective actions for recurring problems.
• Lead controls projects to improve safety, quality, and throughput.
• Mentor maintenance technicians and operators.
