Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer for a night-shift role at our Glendale, AZ facility. You will act as the on-shift controls expert, troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and networks, and leading automation improvement projects across bottling and packaging lines.

You will mentor maintenance technicians, collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams, and ensure reliable, safe production. Relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering technology or related field is required.
• At least four years of industrial automation or controls experience in high-speed manufacturing.
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming capabilities.
• Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and electrical control systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
• Willingness to work 2-2-3 night shift on-site.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-shift controls and automation expert.
• Provide Tier 1 and 2 troubleshooting for production equipment.
• Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, instrumentation, and network issues.
• Identify recurring problems and implement corrective actions.
• Lead controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.
• Support commissioning, upgrades, and system integration.
• Provide training and mentorship to maintenance staff.
