Job summary
Electrical Automation Services is seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer for a night shift at our Glendale, Arizona facility. You will serve as the on-shift controls expert, diagnosing and resolving PLC/HMI, VFD, and servo issues to keep high-speed production running.
You will lead automation projects, mentor maintenance technicians and operators, and collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and quality to improve safety, reliability, and throughput for bottling and packaging
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent in engineering technology or related field.
- At least four years of industrial automation experience in high-speed manufacturing.
- Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming skills.
- Experience with automated production, conveyor, and packaging equipment.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
- Excellent communication across plant departments.
- Available to work 2-2-3 night shift from 6 PM to 6 AM.
Responsibilities
- Serve as on-shift controls and automation expert.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for production equipment.
- Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and network issues.
- Identify recurring problems and implement corrective actions.
- Lead controls projects to improve safety, quality, and throughput.
- Support commissioning, upgrades, and system integration.
- Mentor maintenance technicians and operators.
