Job summary

Electrical Automation Services seeks a seasoned Controls Engineer for our Glendale, AZ facility on a 2-2-3 night schedule (6:00 PM–6:00 AM). You will be the on-site controls expert supporting high-speed beverage production, diagnosing PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and networked automation systems.

You will lead improvements, mentor maintenance technicians, and collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to boost safety, reliability, and throughput.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in engineering tech or related field.
• 4+ years of industrial automation in high-speed manufacturing.
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming skills.
• Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and networks.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings.
• Excellent cross-department communication.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-shift controls and automation expert.
• Provide Tier 1 and 2 troubleshooting for packaging equipment.
• Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and network issues.
• Implement permanent corrective actions for recurring problems.
• Lead controls projects to improve safety, quality, throughput.
• Mentor maintenance technicians and operators.
• Maintain backups and change records; support commissioning.
• Collaborate with teams on continuous-improvement initiatives.
