Job summary
Electrical Automation Services is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer for the Glendale, AZ facility, working on-site in Surprise with a 2-2-3 night shift from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. You will serve as the on-shift controls expert, troubleshooting PLC/HMI/VFD systems across production lines and leading automation improvement projects.
The role requires a minimum of four years in industrial automation, strong PLC skills, and the ability to read electrical schematics.
Qualifications
- Requires an Associate degree or equivalent industry experience.
- 4+ years in industrial automation/controls in high-speed manufacturing.
- Strong PLC troubleshooting & programming capabilities.
- Knowledge of HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, industrial networks, and electrical control systems.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary on-shift controls and automation expert.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for automated equipment.
- Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, instrumentation issues and implement fixes.
- Lead controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.
- Mentor maintenance technicians and operators; provide training.
