Job summary
Electrical Automation Services is seeking a Controls Engineer to lead on-shift automation efforts in Glendale, AZ. You will troubleshoot PLC, HMI, VFD and servo systems, drive improvements, and mentor technicians to raise reliability and throughput.
The role requires a 2-2-3 night schedule (6:00 PM–6:00 AM) with on-site responsibilities and a base salary range of $100,000–$130,000 plus a 20% target bonus, plus relocation assistance and a robust benefits package.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in engineering technology or related field.
- At least four years of industrial automation or controls experience in high-speed manufacturing.
- Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming capabilities.
- Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial networks.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
- Excellent communication across plant departments.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary on-shift controls and automation expert.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for automated production equipment.
- Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, instrumentation, and network issues.
- Develop controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.
- Mentor maintenance technicians and operators on controls concepts.
- Support equipment commissioning, upgrades and system integration.
