Job summary
Electrical Automation Services is seeking a seasoned Controls Engineer for a Glendale, AZ facility operating on a 2-2-3 night schedule from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. You will serve as the on-shift controls expert, diagnosing PLC/HMI issues and leading automation projects with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
The role requires 4+ years in high-speed manufacturing automation, strong PLC/HMI knowledge, and the ability to mentor technicians while implementing improvements that boost safety,
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent in automation/controls.
- 4+ years in industrial automation/controls in high-speed manufacturing.
- Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming capabilities.
- Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, networks, and electrical controls.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings.
- Willingness to work a 2-2-3 night shift (6 PM–6 AM).
Responsibilities
- Serve as on-site controls expert and troubleshoot Tier 1 and 2 equipment.
- Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and network issues; restore production.
- Lead controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.
- Provide technical leadership and training to maintenance staff.
- Maintain backups and documentation; support commissioning and upgrades.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, quality.
