Job summary
Electrical Automation Services in Glendale, Arizona, seeks a seasoned Controls Engineer for on-site night shift to support high-speed beverage production. The role includes troubleshooting PLC/HMI/VFD systems, leading automation projects, mentoring technicians, and coordinating with operations, maintenance, engineering and quality to boost safety, reliability and throughput.
Relocation assistance is available; compensation includes a base salary range of $100,000–$130,000 with a target 20%
Qualifications
- Associate degree in engineering technology or related discipline.
- At least four years of industrial automation/controls experience in high-speed manufacturing.
- Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming capabilities.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
- Willingness to work a 2-2-3 night shift (6:00 PM–6:00 AM).
- Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial networks.
Responsibilities
- Serve as on-shift controls and automation expert.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for automated production equipment.
- Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, instrumentation issues.
- Develop and execute controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.
- Support high-speed beverage processing, filling, canning, conveying, and packaging systems.
- Maintain backups, documentation, and change records; participate in equipment commissioning.
