Job summary

Electrical Automation Services in Glendale, AZ is seeking a seasoned Controls Engineer for the night shift to support high-speed beverage processing lines. You will troubleshoot PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and network issues, drive improvements, and mentor maintenance staff.

Expect a 2-2-3 night schedule (6:00 PM–6:00 AM), a base salary of $100,000–$130,000 with a 20% target bonus, and relocation assistance for qualified candidates. Comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering technology, information systems, industrial automation and controls, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• At least four years of industrial automation/controls experience in high-speed manufacturing (beverage, food, packaging, or similar).
• Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming capabilities.
• Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, instrumentation, and industrial networks.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings; interpret technical docs.
• Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• Willingness to work a 2-2-3 night shift (6:00 PM–6:00 AM).

Responsibilities

• Serve as on‑shift controls and automation expert for plant operations.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for automated production lines.
• Diagnose PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, instrumentation, and network issues.
• Develop permanent corrective actions for recurring problems.
• Lead controls projects to improve safety, quality, reliability, and throughput.
• Assist with commissioning, upgrades, and system integration.
• Mentor maintenance technicians and operators in controls practices.
