Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Nursing Assistant for the Good Shepherd Hospital Med Surg unit. You will work 2 12-hour night shifts weekly, 6:30 pm to 7:00 am, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Duties include assisting nurses with routine patient care, recording vitals, and supporting patient transport and comfort. Requirements include GED or high school diploma and active BLS certification within 45 days, plus Nurse Aide in good standing with the state registry.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to set priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, feeding and mobility.
• Record and document vital signs and intake/output in EMR.
• Perform rounds and communicate observations to RN.
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges with proper setup.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing as directed.
