Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care on the Med Surg unit. You will assist with daily activities, vital signs, documentation, and basic patient mobility under RN supervision.

The role includes 36 hours per week, full-time status, and a weekend-night schedule (Fri-Sun, 19:00–07:30) with 0.9 FTE. Requires BLS within 45 days and state Nurse Aide registration.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma (or equivalent)
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification within 45 days
• Nurse Aide in good standing with State Registry

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, feeding, hygiene, mobility, and measurements; document in EMR.
• Participate in admission, transfer and discharge processes under RN supervision.
• Perform patient rounding and communicate needs to RN; assist with transferring and positioning.
• Assist with nutrition-related tasks including tray setup and diet monitoring.
• Collect specimens and support point-of-care testing as assigned; maintain proper labeling and records.
