Job summary

Advocate Health in Wisconsin is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Med Surg: IU 2 Neurology and Surgical units. This full-time role covers 36 hours weekly with nights 7pm–7:30am, weekends rotation, and 0.9 FTE for weekend shifts. You will assist with daily patient care and document data in the EMR under RN supervision.

Required: GED or HS diploma and BLS for Healthcare Providers within 45 days; Nurse Aide in good standing. Prior experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation and documents data in EMR.
• Participates in admission, transfer and discharge under supervision of RN and assists with room setup and belongings.
• Performs purposeful rounding under direction of RN and communicates observations to RN.
• Maintains infection prevention practices and proper use of PPE.
• Coordinates tests and treatments and maintains knowledge of diagnostic and treatment departments.
