Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD seeks an RN to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team in the Acute/Neuro unit. The role emphasizes evidence-based care, patient advocacy, and ongoing education for patients and families.

The position requires an accredited nursing degree and MD RN licensure with BLS. BSN preferred. Eligible candidates will work 36 hours weekly on night shift with weekend/holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree required (BSN preferred).
• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Superior interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
• Competency in electronic patient management systems.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care.
• Communicate variances from patient goals and advocate for patients.
• Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.
• Administer medications, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects.
• Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and changes.
• Design and evaluate nursing care plans with the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families during stay and for discharge.
