Job summary

Holy Cross Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the PCU/Neuro unit in Silver Spring, Maryland. The RN will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team on patient-centered care in a 30-bed unit focused on neuroscience diagnoses including epilepsy monitoring.

The role emphasizes education, discharge planning, and accurate documentation, with opportunities for clinical educators support. Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
• Competency in electronic patient management systems.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care.
• Communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of patient.
• Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.
• Administer medications to patients, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects.
• Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and pertinent changes.
• Design, implement and evaluate patient nursing care plans with healthcare team.
• Educate patients and family throughout stay and in preparation for discharge.
