Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD seeks a Registered Nurse for the 30-bed Acute/Neuro unit. The RN will work in a collaborative team to deliver evidence-based care to neuro and cardiac telemetry patients.

The role includes medication administration, patient education and discharge planning, with weekend and holiday rotation. Minimum qualifications include RN licensure in Maryland or Compact State, BLS, strong communication and a willingness to develop in a fast-paced neuro environment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN or MSN preferred with obligation to obtain if not present.
• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Superb interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
• Competency in electronic patient management systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care.
• Communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of the patient.
• Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.
• Administer medications to patients, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects.
• Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and pertinent changes.
• Design, implement and evaluate patient nursing care plans with the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and family throughout stay and in preparation for discharge.
