Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD, seeks a Registered Nurse for the Acute/Neuro unit on a 12-hour day shift. The role supports telemetry, interdisciplinary care, and patient education throughout admission and discharge.

The unit emphasizes neuroscience care with staff to assist in clinical education and patient outcomes. A BSN is preferred; licensure in MD or compact state is required, with BLS certification and EHR competency.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred; agreement to obtain within a specified time frame.
• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Superb interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
• Competency in electronic patient management systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care.
• Communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of patient.
• Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.
• Administer medications to patients, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects.
• Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and pertinent changes.
• Design, implement and evaluate patient nursing care plans with healthcare team.
• Educates patients and family throughout stay and in preparation for discharge.
