Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD, seeks a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) for a 12-hour night shift on a Gen/Surgical Unit. The RN will provide bedside care, administer medications, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care.

Requires BSN preferred, Maryland RN licensure, and BLS. This role offers flexible schedules, free parking, and a strong emphasis on mission-driven, compassionate care within our community.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree required (BSN preferred).
• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Superb interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
• Competency in electronic patient management systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care.
• Communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of the patient.
• Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.
• Administer medications to patients, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects.
• Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and pertinent changes.
• Design, implement and evaluate patient nursing care plans with the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families throughout stay and in preparation for discharge.
