Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Acute/Cardiac unit on a part-time basis. This 12-hour night shift position offers 24 hours weekly and requires a caring bedside approach, strong assessment skills, and teamwork with the interdisciplinary team.

The RN will administer medications, monitor patient conditions, document care, educate patients and families, and contribute to discharge planning in a 30-bed unit supported by educators and clinicians.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with RN licensure.
• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in acute care, preferably cardiac.
• Competency in electronic patient management systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care to acutely ill patients on a cardiac telemetry unit.
• Administer medications and monitor efficacy/side effects.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient condition and changes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure patient-centered care.
• Educate patients and families during stay and at discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate and timely health records.
