Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD seeks a Registered Nurse for the 30-bed Acute/Neuro unit (6 East) on a 12-hour night shift, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based patient care. This role requires an accredited nursing degree (BSN preferred), Maryland RN license, BLS, and at least 1 year in acute care.

Night shifts are 7pm–7am with weekend/holiday rotation; full-time 36 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current RN license in Maryland or Compact State.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
• Competency in electronic patient management systems.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered care.
• Communicate variances from patient goals and advocate for patients.
• Maintain accurate and timely health records.
• Administer medications, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects.
• Assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and changes.
• Design, implement and evaluate nursing care plans with the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families throughout stay and prior to discharge.
