Job summary
Optimal Care - Evergreen is seeking a Hospice After Hours Registered Nurse to deliver skilled nursing and emotional support during the overnight hours. You will work a consistent 7-on / 7-off night rotation (5pm–8am) from home, with no on-call requirements, traveling within the service area to patient homes and facilities.
The role requires an RN license, 1 year of clinical nursing experience, and flexibility to evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
- Current State License as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum 1 year experience as a nurse in a clinical care setting.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and valid automobile insurance.
- Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Provide hospice care and emotional support during overnight hours.
- Assess and manage urgent symptoms with clinical interventions.
- Coordinate with physicians and hospice team to ensure continuity of care.
- Work independently with structured night rotation and home-based start/end locations.
- Support families through crisis moments with compassion and expertise.
