Job summary

Optimal Care is seeking a Hospice After Hours Registered Nurse to provide compassionate, skilled care during overnight hours. You’ll work a consistent 7-on / 7-off night rotation (5pm–8am) with no on-call and shifts starting and ending from home, travel within a defined service area to patients in homes and facilities.

You’ll assess urgent symptoms, deliver nursing interventions, and support families through crisis moments with clinical expertise and empathy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
• Current State License as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a nurse in a clinical care setting.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and valid automobile insurance coverage.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care and emotional support to patients and families overnight.
• Assess and manage urgent symptoms during night shifts.
• Coordinate with physicians and hospice team to ensure continuity of care.
• Work independently with a highly structured schedule from home.
