Job summary

Optimal Care in Michigan is seeking a Hospice After Hours Registered Nurse to deliver skilled nursing care and emotional support during overnight hours, ensuring comfort, dignity, and peace at end of life.

You will work a 7-on/7-off night rotation (5pm–8am) with shifts starting and ending from home, travel within the service area to patients' homes, facilities, or nursing homes, and coordinate with physicians and the hospice team to maintain continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
• Current State License as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a nurse in a clinical care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care and emotional support to patients and families during overnight hours.
• Assess and manage urgent symptoms and perform nursing interventions during night shifts.
• Coordinate with physicians and hospice team to ensure continuity of care throughout the night.
