Job summary
Optimal Care is seeking a Hospice After Hours Registered Nurse to deliver expert nursing care to patients in their homes, assisted living facilities, or nursing homes within the Lansing service area. The role offers a predictable, home-based schedule with 7 nights on / 7 nights off (5pm–8am) and on-call nights, plus 2–4 weeks of initial training.
Responsibilities include symptom management, clinical decision-making, and collaboration with the care team to ensure comfort and dignity at end of
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
- Current State License as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum 1 year experience as a nurse in a clinical care setting.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and valid automobile insurance coverage.
- Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Provide hospice care overnight with symptom management and compassionate support.
- Collaborate with physicians, hospice leadership, and the inter-disciplinary team.
- Respond to urgent needs while maintaining comfort, dignity and end-of-life care.
- Deliver nursing interventions and support to patients and families during night hours.
