Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a technology manager to lead data center operations, mentor a diverse team, sponsor projects, and drive technical solutions. You will oversee hardware and network diagnostics, participate in on-call rotation, and ensure safety, security, and optimal performance across AWS data centers.

The role requires travel between facilities, managing KPIs, and delivering high customer experience while maintaining end-to-end data center operations and incident response.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• 2+ years of people management experience
• 2+ years of operations and on-call support for data center facilities, mission critical plants, or production facilities

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators
• Manage the performance of diverse data center operation teams across locations
• Develop career paths for employees and maintain internal tools
• Recruit and train data technicians to ensure staffing levels
• Oversee day-to-day data center operations including queue and 24/7 shift management
• Be the subject matter expert across data center operations
• Ensure operational KPIs and metrics are tracked and met
• Drive process improvements, technology innovation, and automation
• Manage large-scale events and act as call leader
• Improve workflows and throughput across data centers
• Document and oversee policies to meet SLAs
• Coordinate on-call schedules and vacations
• Strive to improve Customer Experience
