Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a technology manager to lead a team that maintains cloud infrastructure for global data center operations.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strategic planning, and mentorship across all levels, with on-call responsibilities and travel to multiple data center sites as needed. The candidate will guide hardware and network diagnostics, collaborate with software, hardware, and security experts, and sponsor projects to improve efficiency and service levels

Qualifications

• 4+ years IT experience or Bachelor's degree in CS, engineering, math or equivalent.
• 2+ years people management experience.
• 2+ years of operations and on-call support for data center facilities, mission critical plants, or production facilities.
• 2+ years of computer hardware experience, including troubleshooting and repairing.
• Certification in fields like A+, Net+, Sec+, CCNA, LPIC, Linux+, AWS certification, Network+ or Security+.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators.
• Manage the performance of a diverse team of data center operation professionals across locations.
• Recruit and train data technicians to ensure staffing levels.
• Ensure day-to-day data center operations including queue management and 7/24 shift arrangements.
• Lead large scale events (outages) and act as call leader.
• Maintain on-call schedules and drive improvements in processes and automation.
