Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform in-hospital hearing screens for newborns. This role includes on-the-job training and annual certification accredited by the American Academy of Audiology, with duties at Morton Plant Hospital and other hospital locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification required or must obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays required.
• Preferred: 1–3 months experience with newborns in a medical setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn hearing screens in hospital settings.
• Provide education to parents about the importance of screening and early intervention.
• Ensure accurate data collection and documentation for each baby.
• Maintain PPE, vaccination and compliance requirements.
• Notify supervisor of missed or referred cases and coordinate outpatient follow‑ups when needed.
• Screen efficiently to minimize time in the room while maintaining quality and education.
