Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform in-hospital newborn hearing screens and educate families on the importance of early detection. The role is on-site at hospital locations with on-the-job training and annual American Academy of Audiology certification.

Responsibilities include screening, data collection, documentation, and coordination of follow-up for refer babies, while maintaining confidentiality and patient education throughout the shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification or must obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays required.

Responsibilities

• Screen newborns and educate parents on the relevance of hearing screens and early intervention.
• Evaluate each patient for screen readiness before performing a screen.
• Collect data/demographics and perform screen, ensuring documentation is followed.
• Notify Site Supervisor of missed or referred babies and schedule outpatient follow-up where appropriate.
