Job summary

Pediatrix is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform screens in-hospital, ensuring timely, accurate results and parental education. You will work on-site at hospital locations and receive on-the-job training with annual certification by the American Academy of Audiology.

Responsibilities include conducting screens, ensuring readiness, collecting data, documenting results, and coordinating follow-up appointments for refer babies, while prioritizing safety and patient education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR Certification or must obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays required.
• Entry-level: 1–3 months of experience with newborns and in a medical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn hearing screens and educate parents about screening relevance and early intervention.
• Assess patient readiness (fed, quiet, not moving) prior to screening to ensure reliable results.
• Collect data/demographics, perform screens, and document results per protocol.
• Provide compassionate care to screened babies and families.
• Upload screen results and state reporting by end of shift; reconcile statistics when needed.
• Schedule outpatient appointments for refer babies as appropriate.
