Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group, Inc. is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hearing screens in hospital settings and educate families on early intervention. The role is on-site at hospital locations with on-the-job training and annual American Academy of Audiology accredited certification.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Ability to prioritize daily tasks and assignments.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Stand and walk frequently (95% of shift).
• Push/pull up to 100 pounds frequently.
• Demonstrate sensitivity when speaking to family and handling patients.
• Computer proficiency and data-entry capability.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn hearing screens in hospital settings.
• Educate parents on the relevance of hearing screens and early intervention.
• Ensure proper data collection and documentation for each baby.
• Upload screen results and reporting by end of each shift.
• Notify supervisor of missed or refer babies and schedule outpatient follow-ups.
• Comply with PPE, vaccinations, and hospital policies; participate in compliance modules.
• Provide care with sensitivity to families during this milestone.
