Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform in-hospital hearing screens for newborns and educate families on the importance of early intervention. The technician works on-site at hospital locations, with on-the-job training and annual certification accredited by the American Academy of Audiology.

Responsibilities include screening eligible newborns, collecting data, ensuring documentation, and coordinating follow-up outpatient appointments when required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification required or obtained upon offer.
• Weekend and national holiday availability required.
• Entry-level role with 1–3 months of newborns/medical setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn hearing screens in hospital settings and educate parents on results.
• Collect data/demographics and document screens per protocol.
• Schedule outpatient appointments for refer babies as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow PPE/safety protocols.
