Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hospital-based newborn hearing screens and educate families on the importance of early intervention.

The role requires on-site work at hospital locations, completion of required certifications, and adherence to safety policies. Training and annual American Academy of Audiology certification are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification or ability to obtain.
• Willingness to work on weekends and national holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn hearing screens and educate parents about results and importance of early intervention.
• Comply with PPE, safety, and hospital policies; raise questions to HS Manager as needed.
• Assess screen readiness before each test (baby calm, fed, still).
• Collect data and demographics; perform the screen and related services for each eligible baby and document appropriately.
• Upload screen results/billing/state reporting by end of shift and reconcile stats with Site Supervisor guidance.
• Notify Site Supervisor of missed and referred babies; schedule outpatient follow-up when applicable.
• Perform screens efficiently without compromising quality or patient education.
